X-Men Origins: Wolverine
tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past and his complex relationship with Victor Creed.
Directed by Gavin Hood, Hugh Jackman returns to the role that made him a superstar.
Wolverine is an awesome fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Living a mutant life, Wolverine seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who later becomes Sabertooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and the movie ultimately pits Wolverine against Sabretooth, played by Liev Schreiber and a host of other mutants including Blob and Deadpool, as well as the nefarious Weapon X project.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is directed by South African filmmaker Gavin Hood, of the Oscar winner Tsotsi and Rendition previously. The script was written by veteran screenwriter David Benioff, of 25th Hour, Troy, and The Kite Runner previosuly. The character of Wolverine was first created by Len Wein and John Romita Sr. back in 1974.
